Q: What is meant by "Personalized Jewelry"?

A: An existing jewelry design altered by adding a stone, changing the metal, or engraving the piece. 

Q: What is meant by "Original Custom Jewelry"?

A: A piece of jewelry created using a completely original design. This process is usually more involved and takes more time, therefore the custom fees tend to be higher than for a personalized piece.

Q: Is there a difference in price between personalized jewelry and original custom jewelry?

A: The two main factors affecting the cost of creating original jewelry tend to be the price of materials and the time involved in making the piece. Both personalized and original custom pieces range in price depending on their complexity and weight. Working on both complex and simple pieces, we can often adjust these two cost factors to accommodate most budget requests. Just because a piece is custom does not mean that it has to be expensive, never hesitate to ask about the piece you are interested in! 

Q: How long does it take to make a personalized or original custom piece?

A: The time it takes to create your piece will depend on the complexity and process required for the order. Most personalized pieces will take between one to four weeks, while original custom pieces often are completed within the six to eight-week range. If you need the piece by a certain date we will let you know if that can be accommodated.

Q: How do I start my personalized or original custom order?

A: Start your order by filling out and submitting our custom request form here. Please allow 2-5 business days for us to get back to you with a response. We can help you come up with an original idea, or if you already have concepts for the piece, you can send photos or sketches to Karin@KajsJewelry.com. All custom and personalized orders are evaluated on a case-by-case basis to ensure that the project is a good match.

Q: Can you repurpose and incorporate customer provided stones and materials?

A: We often work with recycled materials, jewelry, and stones, and love creating pieces that have special sentiment to them. Each heirloom redesign is evaluated on an individual basis to ensure that the materials will work for the new design. We are not liable for any damage of stones while working on the piece.

Q: What is your personalized and original custom jewelry return policy?

A: We work closely with our customers to ensure that you are happy with the design we have created. Please note that all personalized and original custom jewelry pieces are non-refundable.

Q: Can you create a custom piece from something I found in nature?

A: This is a great way of transforming something otherwise brittle into a piece of lasting wearable jewelry. Send us a picture of the piece, and we would gladly examine it to see if it is something we can make a mold of and cast for you. Most natural pieces are however destroyed in the mold making process, so make sure that it is not something you would like returned.
